I have a friend who had that discussion in her politics class. She said it felt so disgusting to sit there in a room full of people who thought that she did not deserve the human right, knowing that she's gay and saying that right in front of her, I mean, that she's less than human because of her sexuality, and was not worthy of the right to get married. The same people that smile at her and hug her every day and chat with her and wish her well, and they don't even consider her a human being.
